Mission: The Andover Pack Dance Team strives to uphold the pride and tradition of the Andover High School family. Dancers are dedicated to their commitment of passionate athleticism while developing leadership, self confidence, and self-discipline.
The Andover Pack Dance Team is a group of young female athletes who work towards the same vision for each season. Dancers are dedicated to achieving goals of furthering their dancing abilities, teamwork, showing respect to team members and their coaches, building friendships and celebrating successful moments both on and off the dance floor. The Andover Pack Dance Team continues to be successful both on and off the floor thanks to the support of parents, booster club and board and as well as the hard work of the team members.
The Andover Pack Dance Team consists of two seasons, fall performance and winter competitive seasons. Fall performance season provides opportunities for dancers to grow their experience by participating in performances to better their athleticism and technical training leading up to the winter season. There is only one team for the fall season. The winter competitive team consists of Varsity and JV levels and competes in the high kick and jazz styles. See the winter season page for more details.
To be a member of either the winter competitive, fall performance team or both, dancers must audition at team tryouts specific to the season. Auditions are typically posted in early spring. Those auditioning for the winter team may be selected for the competitive team during spring tryouts but will not be placed on the Varsity or JV roster until after October placements auditions. Tryouts consist of learning a short kick and jazz routine in addition to demonstrating specific skills as requested by coaches. All decisions will be final and will be up to the discretion of coaches. Dancers that are not placed on a team may request to speak to the coaches to ask questions regarding their placements, as well as encouraged to come back for next year. Coaches observe a 48 hour no contact rule after placements are announced to address any questions regarding placements.
